Project Swap: Solone Color Party Waterproof Stick Eyeshadow ES-01 Starched Bare Boots and Es-07 Purple Mini Dress

These were on loan to me from dear Lunaface from The Flintstone Loves Pretty who knows how much I love cream eye shadows especially those that come in a stick! I'm still reeling over how fabulous the Kiko ones are.

Solone is a Taiwanese drugstore brand from what I can gather. You can get more information about them here.

If it is not for Luna, I would not have been able to play with so many interesting brands that I would probably not have access to or not know about, thanks babe!

1271-4 Peach Martini
1271-5 Peppermint Sweet Wine
1271-6 Navy Dance Floor
1271-7 Purple Mini Dress
1277 - Pearl Eyeshadow Base

These are very handy sticks that has a cap that clicks shut. Not a fan of the pastel pink  casing though but who cares, it is the product that matters. It twists up.

Left to right: ES 01 and ES 07
I'll be honest, they aren't the creamiest cream shadows I have tried before. They do apply slightly patchy so I go over my eyelids with this a few times. They are quite easy to blend but I need to blend fast. They are budge proof and I only spotted minimal smudging after 4 hours.

ES-07 Purple Mini Dress

ES-01 Starched Bare Boots

These eye shadow sticks however don't play well together or with other cream products but you know what I think they look pretty darn good on their own. I love the two smokey looks I created with just one colour.

On the website, they sell for $17.90. Not sure what currency it is in but I think Luna got them at a steal for $4. How cool is that? For that price I would gladly pick up all and play with them and live with the slight patchiness. I do wonder how long they will stay creamy for though.

Please check out Luna's review of them at her blog here.

Project Swap: Dolce and Gabbana Luminous Cheek Color Rose

Hi everyone, today I am going to show you the Dolce and Gabbana Blush in Rose which lovely Ruby from Miaka's Life and Loves passed to me to play with.

Rose is a muted brown rose shade. What I love about these D and G blushes is that they aren't overly pigmented and thus very easy to apply. These blushes are finely pigmented and soft. They blend very well and stay on me for a long time. If I have to nitpick it is the fact that the black cloth casing it comes with, is a tight squeeze. I have a slight problem getting the blush out of the casing everytime I want to use it.

Top to bottom: Rosebud and Rose

USD $45.

With a plethora of blushes out there, a blush must really be something to stand out in such a crowded field. As pretty as it is, it doesn't make me want to rush out and get more of these.

Guerlain Kiss Kiss Shaping Cream Lip Colour 325 Rouge Kiss

I perk up whenever I hear of new lipstick releases especially from brand I like. I'm lipstick crazy. Guerlain has a special place in my heart. Between the Automatiques and the Rouge Gs, I prefer the Rouge Gs because of their opacity and creaminess. I knew I had to get one of the Kiss Kiss lipsticks to try. Dear Ruby from Miaka's Life and Loves, my partner and neighbour in crime offered to pick one for me at the DFS and I jumped at the chance. I also decided to wing it and have her surprise me with a colour of her picking and she selected Rouge Kiss.

I love the beautiful black casing. It has heft but not as heavy as the Rouge G. I love black casings the most because they look very sleek.

Left to right: One swipe versus two swipes
To me, Rouge Kiss is a vibrant coral red colour. I do agree when I read that bloggers say that Kiss Kiss is a cross between the Automatique and Rouge G. I feel that it is creamy and opaque. It glides smoothly on my lips and is kind to my lips after a full day of wear. It isn't drying on me either. I did hear that the ones with shimmer fare a little worse but I'm not sure, would anyone care to share your thoughts if you bought one with shimmer?

I have the perfect "underwear" for my Rouge Kiss. Make Up For Ever Aqua Lip in 25C.

My blue eye liner look to go with my bright coral red lips.

The rest of my makeup for that day.

I am thoroughly enjoying the new Guerlain offering and don't mind getting more. I love luxe lipsticks and this fits the bill perfectly.

There are a total of 25 shades.

Evonnz has fantastic lip swatches of the entire range. I am eyeing 344 named Sexy Cool but on Nordstrom it is called Sexy Coral.

USD $37. SGD $42.30 at DFS.

Project Swap: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush In Mood Exposure and Diffused Heat

Yup I am very late to this. You would have seen these popping up in beauty blogs a long time ago and yes I am only reviewing them now. I'm not sure about you but sometimes certain products just don't call to me and give me that urgency to buy now. I saw these Ambient blushes for a very long time and they were in my Net-A-Porter cart for ages but I never felt the need to click the checkout button. So I am positively delighted that dear Ruby from Miaka's Life and Loves offered up her Hourglass Ambient blushes for sacrifice. Just kidding, no blushes for hurt in the making of this post. :)

I give to you Mood Exposure and Diffused Heat. Drum roll please!

(Information taken from Hourglass website)

• Hourglass has fused Ambient Lighting Powder, the cutting-edge collection of finishing powders, with an array of vivid cheek colors, creating a hybrid product that is unique, contemporary and revolutionary.
• Unlike traditional blush, which tends to be flat, Ambient Lighting Blush uses Photoluminescent Technology to exhibit depth and dimension.
• The airy, lightweight powders contain optically transparent particles that amplify the colors to a multidimensional level—effectively reinventing the way you view blush.
• The state of the art formula means that its full potential is only displayed on application.
• The hand-made powders are formulated using an advanced miscelare technique—which means “to mix” in Italian—creating the perfect balance of pigment and powder, and no two look alike.
• Delivers a natural radiant finish and offers buildable color.
• Ambient Lighting Blush is designed to be paired with Ambient Lighting Powder. Using the two products together imbues the entire complexion with an otherworldly glow.
• The six shades, which range from soft coral to cool pink, are a wardrobe of captivating accent lights for cheeks.

Mica, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Boron Nitride, Hdi/Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Octyldodecanol; Benzoic Acid, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Dehydroacetic Acid, Diamond Powder, Dimethicone, Ethylhexylglycerin, Laureth-7, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Phenoxyethanol, Polyacrylamide, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Potassium Sorbate, Silica, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Sorbic Acid, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Tin Oxide, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, May Contain: (+/-): Red 7 Lake (CI 15850), Red 40 Lake (CI 16035), Carmine (CI 75470), Ultramarines (CI 77007), Bismuth Oxychloride (CI 77163), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891)

I must say, I like the casing. It has heft and even though it is plastic, it is a heavy, sturdy yet classy version of plastic.

Pardon the fingerprints. Eeks! Anyway my understanding is that each blush is slightly different because of the marbling effect. It is a highlighter and blush mixed together. Depending on how much blush and highlighter ratio, your Ambient blush might be lighter or darker as compared to another one. The highlighter also makes the blush glowy.

I picked up quite a bit of powder during my finger swatches and instantly felt a pang of guilt. Luna I hope you don't mind, I was kind of enthusiastic with my finger swatches. These have a slight powdery feel even though it did not kick up powder when I used my brush on it. They are quite pigmented so I used my soft and fluffy blush brushes to apply them.

Which do you think is my favourite of the two? Scroll down and see if you are correct.

Diffused Heat of course! I am attracted to peachy blush shades. Above you see Diffused Heat on my cheeks. Go easy on them so that you don't look clownish.

For Mood Exposure, because it is a plumish brown shade, I used it just under my cheekbones as more of a contourish shade.

On my normal skin (Not oily anymore! Woohoo! At least for the time being.) they lasted the whole day, I didn't see a need to reapply my blush. Of course they didn't look freshly applied at the end of the day but I still see them on my cheeks. They feel soft on my skin and blend well.

They sell for USD $35 on the Hourglass and Sephora website but USD $40.65 at the Net-A-Porter website. What gives?

I like them but not enough to buy them on my own. How weird is that?

Giorgio Armani Cheek Fabric Sheer Blush 305 Dolci

I have been wanting to own a Cheek Fabric since I heard they were out. I just couldn't decide on which shade to get even after poring over the numerous swatches. Finally after poring over The Beauty Look Book's swatches I decided to order Dolci.

There are a total of 8 shades available. I wish they would name their shades on the website.

I am so glad I chose Dolci. I love peachy orange shades and this is just the perfect peach. It is a luminous shade with fine shimmer. It is not overly pigmented so it is very easy to wear.  It is very finely milled and blends easily onto my skin. It lasts about 4 hours on me.

USD $46

I am totally in love with these new Cheek Fabrics. I wish I could see them in person to swatch them instead of relying on online swatches.
