Day out to the Art and Science Museum

My DS is a big fan of Egyptian history. After watching Indiana Jones, he has always been talking about being an explorer. It was the last day of the school holidays, I thought we would end it sweet by visiting the Mummy: Secrets of The Tomb at the Art and Science Museum. One of the reasons why we love visiting the Arts and Science Museum in because they give concessions to Singaporeans.

I can't get enough of the surrounds at the Art and Science Museum. You have probably seen these lilies before.

The Art and Science Museum has activity kits for children of all ages. Here DS is carrying his kit, we had to go around the exhibits to look for clues and complete the hands on activities.

Can we say, walk like an Egyptian?

The famous Louis Vuitton store nearby. I don't dare to go in!

We had to have our sweets after lunch so we visited Au Chocolate.

I couldn't resist! I bought a huge ass macaron. I'm probably going to regret eating it but I couldn't help myself.

Out and about at Satay By The Bay

I love my Friday date nights with DH. As much as I treasure being together as a family , I treasure the quiet times I get with my DH so that we can talk about adult things and remind ourselves why we love each other so much. Being together for so long (we had our 10 year anniversary a few years back) sometimes we are at a loss of what to do on Fridays. We try not to stay at home. Instead we love to venture out to places to have dinner. I have been wanting to visit Satay By The Bay since I heard about it so we decided to visit last night while to haze is still quite moderate.

Over at the satay stalls, they had kiddy height tables and chairs, we just couldn't resist sitting there although to be honestly it is quite uncomfortable after a while. No tight skirts please!

Cam whoring in the process!

There were many sparrows nearby and I was amazed at how close they were to the patrons. The moment patrons left their tables, the sparrows would swoop down and pick at the food. They were actually picking at the satay sauce which were quite spicy. DH said that birds don't have taste buds so they can't tell if it is spicy.

Chilli Kang Kong

Pork, beef and mutton satay

Sambal stingray
Some of the dishes were hits and misses. We loved the stingray and kang kong best. They were flavorful and   had a good spicy kick. The cockles were dry and the satay too. We will probably try another store next time.

We took a walk down to Gardens by the Bay and I was testing out the night scene mode on my new camera. I was pleased with some of the pictures.

Singapore Flyer
The following are the Super Trees found at the Supertree Groove. Every night they have the OCBC Garden Rhapsody which features music and lights. Really pretty.

We ended off our date night with a lovely raspberry panna cotta at Bakerzin. I ate it all!

Have a great weekend everyone!

NARS Satin Lip Pencil Yu Review and Swatches and Nordstrom Haul

There is no stopping this online makeup addict I tell you. I bought more stuff!

Check out the awesome Nordstrom gift with purchase. I died and gone to heaven.

The first things in my shopping cart were the NARS Satin Lip Pencils. They came out in Singapore quite a few weeks back and I was bombarded by gorgeous swatches. My favourite local bloggers have amazing swatches and reviews of them.

Makeup Blogette's Yu and Majella

I have a hard time limiting myself to two pencils. I also wanted Luxembourg but I thought I would try out two first. God forbid if I didn't like the formula.

I am featuring Yu today. It is a bright blue based shocking pink shade. I don't really have steady hands so I find it a challenge to line my lips using the tip of the pencil. I still prefer to use a slimmer lip pencil to do the job.

It is very pigmented and as the description says it has a satin finish.

I wore this out for my Saturday dance classes. It lasted through two peanut butter sandwiches, a Starbuck's Mocha and many sips of water. I only reapplied it just once. At the end of 6 hours it was still going strong.

I do have a tiny rant though. It isn't as moisturizing as I hoped it would be. After coming home and removing it my lips felt a tad dry. I could also still see faint pink stains even after using a makeup remover for lips.

It sells of USD $25 or SGD $37.

I am still over the moon with this lip pencil because Yu is such an amazing colour. The lip pencil is also very handy although product is bound to be wasted due to the sharpening of the pencil.

If you intend to just buy one pencil, it would be just easier to get it at the NARS counter at Tangs but if you intend to splurge and get more perhaps you might want to order them online. The price difference is about SGD $7.
