Benefit Sugarbomb swatches and review

Here is another "toy" I have been given to play with by Ruby from Miaka's Life and Loves. It is one of her favourite blushes. I had two boxed blush from Benefit before ( a long long time ago). Dandelion and Coralista. I wasn't in love with those blushes back then and therefore stopped buying anymore.

I have an issue with the boxed packaging. Though study and lightweight I just didn't feel that it warranted the high markup I have to pay for them. I am not sure how much they cost now but I believe it costs about SGD$55 and USD$28. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.) I rather pay for a Burberry or Chanel blush if I am going to pay that price.

I feel kinda blah about the pigmentation as well. They look very shimmery and didn't show up well on my arm swatch.

It didn't really show up much on my cheeks either. It did give me a subtle glow so perhaps it could be used as a highlighter for me. I bet it would look much better on someone with a lighter skin tone.

I am thankful that Ruby helped me satisfy my curiosity about Sugarbomb. But it is not something I really see myself using on a regular basis.

  1. I have the same problem with Benefit blushes. I can't justify spending so much on cheap cardboard packaging which gets destroyed quite quickly xx

  8. I think it's $46(at least the bronzer is). Tempted to get it last weekend but gotta do my Blush To Flush series first. Haha!

I find Benefit blushes pretty but not unique enough. Plus, they are too shimmery for my liking. Emphasizes pores too!

    1. Joyce I just don't think this blush is worth $46. I love your Blush To Flush series my dear, I love looking at other people's blush stash.

  9. oh it is very shimmery!

I generally don't like Benefit blushes and bronzers but I own a Hervana blush and it has become my favorite blush ever. I've recently hit a pan on it and I'm thinking about repurchasing it (and I usually repurchase only foundations). I wish I lived closer so you could play with my Hervana:)

    1. Caise if you were to live close to me I would be visiting your place all the time to play with your stash. How fun that would be! I am glad you likeHervana, it is very pretty. I'm curious, since it is a square box are you able to get the product at the corners?

  10. I know this isn't the highlight of this post but your eye look here is very pretty! Doesn't seem to be the usual colours you wear. What colours did you use here?

    1. Hey Nonno, hehe I was using a Dior palette that Ruby from Miaka Life ad Loves loaned to me. It is called Smokey Crystal. I was initially hesitant about using it but I like it after experimenting with it.

    2. Ahhh... Smokey Crystal... I had a chance of getting it but I wasn't sure about the colours. I think you should wear more of such colours. Bring sparkles to your eyes. ;)

    3. Aw thanks Nonno. I sometimes have difficulty matching eye makeup with clothes. That's why I like neutral eyes best can match with everything.

    4. Oh is that so?! I'm the opposite... I like wearing colours on my eyes as most of my clothes are in neutral colours! LOL

    5. Nonno, I like colorful clothes. Greens, yellows and bright blues so everything on my face must be neutral. If I wear colorful eye makeup I have to wear black clothes. I don't have a single neutral clothing except for white and black. :)
