Burberry Lip Velvet No. 310 Military Red swatches and reviews

Do you know how long I have been hankering for this lipstick? Since the Lip Velvets came out I had wanted Military Red. When I visited the Burberry counter at Tangs to swatch them, I brought home Fuchsia Pink thinking I bought Military Red (by the way I love Fuchsia Pink too).

Anyway dear Meryl at Memoiselle gifted this to me (thank you so much babe! Hugs!) and so now I feel absolutely contented to have yet another beautiful red to add to my collection.

Military Red is a warm dark red. I love the formula of the Lip Velvet. They are lightweight with a matte satin feel and look. The best part is they do not dry out my lips.

Here is a comparison swatch of my latest Red lipstick acquisitions. As you can see the Rimmel is just a tad cooler than Military Red.

Here is a comparison between Military Red and Fuchsia Pink. Fuchsia Pink is more of a pink red as compared to Military Red.

Anyway if you love your reds, Military Red is something you will want in your collection. Something about a matte red makes it sophisticated and alluring. At SGD $43 it is a luxurious splurge but you will not regret it.

    1. Aw Becca thank you. Did you know I hated my lips as a teen? I'm finally learned to accept them and make them work for me. Military Red is just such a gorgeous colour.

  8. I was totally looking at Military Red, but when I finally made up my mind it was no longer the season to wear reds (for me. I'm weird like that. For me coral is for spring/summer and red for autumn/winter. No negotiation here haha)! I'm pretty sure I'll pick it up this year though. The formula of Lip Velvets is pretty amazing!

    1. Sunny I guess it is because we don't really have seasons here per se. It is either very sunny or rainy so I just wear whatever like colours I like. Yes the Lip Velvet formula is amazing. And the formula is so suitable for bright and deep colours. I hope you will get your Military Red soon, you will find it worth your wait.

  9. This is a nice one! :) Looks great on you. And I love how Burberry make their beauty products with their signature checks on them... very pretty!

    1. Jade, the checks is one of the reasons why I love Burberry Beauty products too. They take a lot of effort in designing the whole look plus the fact that the formula is so good. Thanks for leaving me a comment babe.

    2. And Chanel too! Love the tweed texture they have on their blushes... just really awesome! :)

Oh I forgot to mention how I got to know you! It's actually through Joy and Carol; Joy sent me a photo of you as her recipient (from the Pay It Forward project), and later on Carrot blogged about your meetup and I recognised you from the pics. Hehe :) So nice to know you!

    3. Hehe I got your blog address from Joy. I think the Pay It Forward is such an awesome project Jade and I'm planning on continuing it. Do I just email you the picture of my recipient?

    4. YES PLEASE! That is mad awesome! :D You can send me pics of the parcel with/without the recipient; basically any pic related to things you're doing in connection with the project.

    5. Babe where can I find more information about your project, through your blog?

    6. Hehe! I haven't actually blogged about it yet. The whole thing started when I asked (on Facebook), if anyone would be interested in participating (honestly, I kept my fingers crossed the whole time cos I really didn't expect much of a response!). :)

It's my first time organising such a project so I thought I'd keep it to a group of about 5 girls, and in the end we had 6 (excluding myself)! :D

What happened was, I sent out one parcel to each of these girls, and in turn they would send out one parcel to one other recipient (or more, if they like!) as a Pay It Forward act. I called it "Jade's Pay It Forward Project".

Then throughout the whole project, my recipients snapped photos of the parcels they received from me, and also photos of those parcels they sent out to their respective recipients.

I am in the midst of collating all these photos and preparing a blog post detailing the progress and how the whole thing wrapped up, and I would love to include yours too!! :D

    8. No problem at all! I am very happy and grateful to have you! I forgot to mention it's "Jade's Pay It Forward Project - Beauty Edition" haha... cos it's all beauty-related stuff being sent/received. Getting to know more girls through this "beauty connection"! :)

    1. Hi there it's called Rimmel Marshmellow Look Lipstick 012 which can be found only in Japan. I'm not sure if it's still available. Here's my post about it.
