Giorgio Armani Rouge d'Armani Pink 512 Review and swatches

This time round when I decided to try out the GA Rouge d'Armanis I decided to pick a dramatic colour and a more natural one. I prefer my natural coloured lipsticks to have a little colour in them, nothing too nudish. Alan picked an excellent choice, the moment he applied it on my lips I knew I had to pick it up.

Pink 512 is a creamy slightly warmer blue pink on my lips.

Here are my two new lipstick swatches side by side.

Rouge d'Aramnis retails for SGD $43. They are moisturising and last surprising long for such emollient lipsticks. I am eager to get more colours.

Giorgio Armani Rouge d'Armani Rouge 400 Review and swatches

I will start my Giorgio Armani reviews with my favourite item of all, the red lipstick. I can't seem to stop buying red lipsticks. This is one colour that glams up a look very easily. If you like reds you should wear it anytime you like, it should not just be reserved for the night.

The Rouge d'armani comes in a hefty luxurious black metal casing. There is a magnetic thingy and the lipstick closes with a satisfying click. The tube is not a regular looking tube. It is an oval tube.

I am officially in love with the Rouge'd'Armani formula. I had Alan put this on me at the counter. I had a nice Japanese lunch of sashimi and sushi. I had my hot green tea and went for my pole class (yes! I am finally taking up pole classes!) had many cups of water. Although the colour is less pigmented than initial application. It is still a opaque, uniformed red stain. The colour is a satiny finish with a little shine after hours of wear it still retains its satiny texture with less shine. Throughout the day my lips felt soft and moisturised. It is not drying at all. I am so happy with it.

400 is Giorgio Armani's answer to a universal red. It is leans slightly to a blue toned red but still suits my warmer skin tone. One swipe gives you instant opaque colour. This is one colour I don not apply straight from the tube. I like my red lips to be precise.

Taken at home before going out

Allow me to sidetrack a little. DH and myself love jazz music and oldies so I managed to convince him to atch Louis Hoover sing Frank Sinatra songs. He is good, it sounds very much like Frank Sinatra. We went on a Thursday and this is the outfit I wore. At the theater I was so amazed to see men in tuxedos and ladies in beautiful long gowns. So glamorous   Honestly we felt a little out of place and under dressed. W found out that since it was a premier, there was a charity gala held an all the spiffy men and women were there for it. I got to see our ex President Mr. SR Nathan too. So exciting. He is a truly unassuming gentleman. I have all the more respect for him. He arrived with his daughter very quietly and were the first few to be seated in the whole theater  We had a wonderful time observing the chi chi crowd. The ladies were just so done up and beautiful. I know this is silly but my red lips made me feel less out of place.

The music was just so wonderful, we were singing along and tapping our toes most of the time. Mt favourites were the Lady is A Tramp ( suits my personality!) and Fly Me To The Moon.

Lancome La Base Pro

(Taken from Lancome US website)

For gorgeous, picture-perfect makeup like a pro, this primer promises a smooth, radiant, canvas for a flawless makeup look. Lancôme’s exclusive Elasto-Smooth™ technology refines skin’s texture and diffuses light to visibly reduce imperfections with a satiny-soft finish. Makeup glides on effortlessly and color stays truer and more vibrant for that right-off-the-runway, air-brushed look that lasts until you take it off. Oil-free.

  • Elasto-Smooth™ technology forms a silk‑like network on skin to create a soft‑focus effect, like a filter on a camera lens
  • Contains silicons and emollients that create an even canvas for foundation
  • Oil‑free formula feels comfortable on skin and controls shine

My favourite face primer so far is Giorgio Armani's Fluid Master Primer. I discovered it way back in 2009 and have been using it since. I love it because it gives me an immediate matt canvas to work on. My foundation glides on easily and stays on the whole day. I need only a little. Since 2009, I'm only on my second tube.

I received an 8ml sample from a Nordstrom haul eons ago. I finally am getting around to reviewing it I love receiving samples don't you? I get to try out new products and if I don't like them, it is no big loss on my part.

La Base Pro contains silicones just like GA's Fluid Master. I'm lucky that my skin can tolerate silicones and I just love the slippery feel of it.  I need just a little to cover my face and my face is instantly matt. Although I do not have enlarged pores it still matters to me that my nose area has a poreless look. La Base Pro does that, it makes my skin feel smooth and my foundation adheres well to my skin throughout the day. It is also oil-free. I'm alternating this with my GA Fluid Master everyday. I'm trying to make this last as long as I can. Love it!

La Base Pro costs USD $42 or SGD $72 for 0.8 oz or 25g of product. Giorgio Armani Fluid Master costs USD $56 for  1 oz or 30 ml of product. It seems slightly cheaper than my GA.

Giorgio Armani Haul

Ever since I heard about the new Maestro foundation, I have wanting to own it. I was waiting for a day where I was free to get myself matched. So last Saturday I managed to meet up with the fabulous Alan from Giorgio Armani and got myself maestroed.

I got myself matched to 5.5.

I wanted to try out the Rouge d'armani lipsticks too. So I asked for a natural and a dramatic colour. Alan chose for me a pink in 512 and a red 400. I loved both especially the red. I had lunch and after my pole class and a few cups of water, the red lipstick was still mostly intact after 5 hours. I am impressed.

I also checked out the Easy Chic Fall collection.

It consists of two Face and Eye palettes (Neo Black No. 1 and Neo Brown No. 2),  2 Eyes To Kill waterproof liner (black and brown) and 3 lipsticks from the Rouge d'Armani range (No. 111, 408 and 526)

Neo Black

Neo Brown
I do apologise for the qualty of that shot, my bad. Of the two palettes Neo Brown is easily the more wearable with a pretty peachy blush. Of course it had to be sold out. The face powder for Neo Black seems in my eyes more of  contour/bronzer product. The eye pencils are so creamy, I wanted to buy one to try out but they were sold out too.

These are what I brought home with me.

Look at the cool GWP. It almost works as a uber classy clutch don't you think?

Reviews soon!

Chanel Sublimage Eye Essential Regenerating Eye Cream review

(Information taken from Nordstrom website)

The ultimate in anti-aging luxury starts with one unique plant - the Vanilla Planifolia - unearthed in the farthest reaches of Madagascar. A unique process created by CHANEL Research results in the powerful anti-aging of SUBLIMAGE EYE Essential Regenerating Eye Cream, designed specifically for the delicate eye area. Adding to the cream’s core strength: a unique eye complex to diminish the appearance of puffiness and dark circles and help skin quickly achieve a luminous look, revitalized, regenerated, radiant.

I was given a sample of the Sublimage eye cream to try out and I simply loved it. I loved it enough to sink SGD $250 to buy the full bottle.

I only need to scoop a very small amount to use on both my eyes.

As you can see from my photos, I don't really suffer from dark eye circles. I do get lines when I smile and the pigmentation! I have numerous brown spots around my eye area.

This eye cream has a creamy consistency. My skin absorbs the cream really well and it does not leave an oily residue. My under eye area feels plump and smooth. I use this both day and night.

Sublimage does a good job of keeping my peepers well moisturised but I don't really see my brown spots lightening. It does not erase my fine lines too. That being said, I enjoy applying this on. I'm not sure if it is the fact that I paid $250 for it or because it really is a good cream. It is definitely not a miracle cream.

I am torn. I kinda believe in paying for my skincare. There is however a nagging feeling that sometimes the claims the luxe brands make could be hogwash and the cheaper brands work equally well or even better.

Al I can say is that I really like this eye cream for myself.

Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Eyeshadow Quads‏ Launch

I found this in my inbox a few days ago and I just had to share with you. You know my love for Giorgio Armani so it is very exciting to hear that the new quads are finally going to be launched at DFS Galleria in December.

If you happen to visit the Giorgio Armani counter at DFS now, you will notice that all the existing quads have been removed from the shelves in preparation for these babies.

Here is some information about them.

(Information taken from Nordstrom website)

The Giorgio Armani Laboratories have developed a new formula that reconciles high color saturation with a matte finish by using a coating of soft-touch powders. The technology makes it possible to use an exceptionally high percentage of pure pigments for ever more intense, ultra-saturated color.

The Eyes to Kill Palette includes an extraordinary matte shade that easily blends with an exceptionally luminous satin veil. A palette of four harmonious colors instinctively follows the natural approach to eye makeup for long-lasting, crease-proof matteness. The intense colors are crafted the way Mr. Armani designs fashion - to enhance women's elegance and the power of seduction.
