Burberry Lip Definer No. 7 Rosewood Swatches and review

I bought Rosewood as part of my Burberry Iconic Nudes Summer 2012 haul. You can read detailed reviews of the formula here (Sepia, Brick Red and Dusty Rose.) I wanted a creamier version of my Chanel Natural lipliner.

Burberry Rosewood
Left to right: Rosewood and Natural
As you can see, they are nothing alike. Natural has peachy tones whereas Rosewood is a mauve/rose/beige shade. Honestly I don't like how it turned up on my pigmented lips. It made me look washed out and with Pink Heather over it, looked way too nude on my lips. Me no like.

I am sure I can probably use it with my more pigmented lip colours but I'm not going gaga over this shade. I am regretting my purchase.

Left to right: Rosewood, Dusty Rose, Sepia and Brick Red
Ratings: 1+ lipstick

  2. I bought this lip liner and use it as a base to make the lip stick / gloss that I'm applying to be more prominent. Thinking back, a normal concealer could have done this job as well.

  3. so sad to hear that you don't like this :(
I have never purchased any burberry lip definer. I am not a big fan of lip pencil so I guess this is not for me too.
I hope you'll find something that you want :)

    1. Thanks Meryl, I can't live without lip pencils because my lips needs definition especially around the corners of my mouth. I like the quality of the pencil but just not the colour. :(

  4. oh that's too bad that you don't like it because I bet it was a little pricey (like all Burberry products are:(

I just read your comment and I haven't tried this NARS eyeshadow primer because this brand isn't available here but it's on my wishlist :-)

    1. The Nars primer is quite good. Yup this lip liner was pricey alright, I feel guilty looking at it.

    2. oh don't worry. I recently bought a concealer from Bobbi Brown and I love it so much but guess what.. it's too dark. So I used it about three times and now I'm looking at it and I can't even return it because I used it. Yay :/
