Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Tigerlily, Rose and Hibiscus Swatches and Reviews. Give away time! CLOSED

(Information taken from Burt's Bees website)

Care for your lips with beautiful, sheer color. Our new tinted balms give you a hint of color with a soft, sweet flavor and natural ingredients that moisturize and condition your lips. Available in six flirty shades – Hibiscus, Honeysuckle, Tiger Lily, Pink Blossom, Red Dahlia and Rose.

This cost me USD$6.99 which works up to  SGD$9. Yes you can find this at our local Sephora but I think the price is highly marked up.

I tried to pick the more pigmented colours. The swatches I see on line are totally different from the ones I made. Check out We Heart This and Keeping up with me, they have really nice swatches. When I swatched these myself, they were quite disappointing. I had hoped for a little more colour. I think it also has to do with the fact that I have darker skin and pigmented lips.

I have been using Rose for the past couple of days. It has a faint sweetish taste but I can't put my finger on what taste it is, rose perhaps??? My lips look a little rosier that my normal lip colour and that is about it. I do like how moisturising Rose is. My lips stay soft throughout they day.

I also bought 3 packs of the Nourishing Lip Balm. These cost USD $5.49 which I thought was deal. These would cost SGD $3.60 per lip balm. I find that these make great little gifts. You can read my review of it here.

These are affordable lip balms if you can get them overseas. Don't try to buy them at Sephora Singapore though, they aren't worth the mark up. As lip balms they do the job, if you have fairer skin than mine or want just a hint of colour these would be right up your alley.

Ratings: 2+ lipsticks

Okay give away time! If you don't mind the Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balms that have been arm swatched (I will give tissue wipe them for you.) I have two to give away. Tigerlily and Hibiscus.

This is open to everyone, all you have to do is leave me your email address and the shade that you would prefer to win. Give away closes on the 3rd March Saturday at 12 p.m. Singapore time. I will pick a recipient for each shade.

Good luck!

  2. Another giveaway? We're getting so spoiled! Add me to the list please, I'd prefer Hibiscus but really either would be awesome! :) rach.tanki(at) gmail.com

I was surprised that your swatches are so sheer. They look so dark in the tube! But at least they do the job as lip balm.

  4. Hi Jacqueline,

I would like to try Hibiscus. (Though I'd willingly accept Tigerlilly!)

These tinted lip balms aren't so cheap where I am either, unfortunately. I'm not used to wearing lipsticks, so the recent crop of tinted balms (including L'Oreal Balm Riche and Revlon Lip Butters) has been on my radar. I finally picked up Pink Blossom about a month ago. I was debating between PB and Hibiscus, and I really wish I chose the Hibiscus as PB is too pale for my skin tone. It is nicely pigmented though. I think I'm lighter skinned than you.

I agree with you on the product's scent. I can't figure it out either. It's subtle. I was thinking that it's a mild lipstick-y kind of smell.

Other than the colour, my only other issue with PB is that it kind of felt like lipstick on my lips more than a lip balm. It is quite soft and so applies in a thicker layer than I'm used to my balms doing. Did you experience this?

    1. It feels slightly thicker than my normal lip balm but I wouldn't say it feels like a lip stick. I wear this out when I need to go for very short trips, I'm still not in love with them.

  6. I really love Burt's Bees lipbalms, I've only tried the regular version though. They're my absolute favourite and I love the minty taste! They're way cheaper in the US though, I doubt I'd purchase them at the SG Sephora. :P Please enter me in your giveaway! I'd love to try out the difference between the regular and tinted versions.

    fionastar[at]gmail.com, thanks. :)
