Laura Mercier Art Deco Muse Collection 2012: Illuminating Eye Colors Glided Platinum, Glided Moonlight and Glided Bronze Swatches and Reviews

I think I only got interested in the Laura Mercier Art Deco collection after seeing Replica of Visionary Beauty's post about the Illuminating Eye Color in Glided Bronze. I was completely wowed by the swatches and how good it looked when she did an EOTD.

These are selling for USD $24 and SGD $39. I find the mark up to be very high. I'm kicking myself for not being patient and getting these online but after swatching them at the Laura Mercier counter at Tangs I just had to have them right away. They all looked so good that I picked up three. I skipped Rose Gold. Even though it was also very pretty I am wary about how it would look on my eyes.

Glided Moonlight is a sunny yellow gold.

Glided Bronze is a metallic looking taupe to me.

Glided Platinum is exactly as the name says, a metallic platinum.

These are really pigmented. They blend very well.

Glided Moonlight all over lids
Darkest brown from Chanel Tokapi palette for outer corner of my eyes
Line eyes with black gel liner

Glided Bronze on the outer corners working into the inner corner
Glided Platinum on the inner corner of the eyes
Line eyes with black gel liner

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in La Fascinante
My dual eye colour look! LOL

These illuminating eye colours pack a punch of metallic bling to my eyes. I feel that they are more suitable for evening looks. If I were to wear it for day, I must use a very light hand for a sheer wash of colour. But for nights, the shine is absolutely gorgeous. They last the whole time I wear them with an eye primer.

These are limited edition, if you are considering getting these, I highly recommend you get them online.

Chanel Holiday 2012 Quadra Eye Shadow Harmonie Du Soir Swatches and Review

I have for you today Chanel's quandra Eye Shadow in Harmonie Du Soir. I initially wasn't interested in getthing this because I was a little apprehensive of the plum shade, that was until I swatched it. I fell in love with the pearly pink and beautiful gold shade.

I find this very hard to photograph properly. The colours look washed out.

There is a beautiful brassy old gold, a lovely brownish taupe, a plum and finally a pearly pink shade.

I made swatches of Harmonie Du Soir and Tokapi side by side. Both palettes have superb pigmentation and quality.

Pale pink shade all over lids.

Brownish taupe shade from the outer corners blending inwards.

A dab of plum used as a contour shade and the brassy gold shade from the inner corner of the eyes blending outwards.

Using a creamy black eye pencil I smudged the lash line.

The products I used.

Giorgio Armani Fluid Master  Primer
Chanel Perfection Lumiere
Giorgio Armani Microfil Loose Powder

Le Metier de Beaute Creme Fresh Tint Coral Nymph
Chanel Joues Contraste Reflex
Burberry Light Glow Earthy

Chanel Harmonie Du Soir
Clip Gelpresso eye liner Club Black
Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill mascara

Burberry Lipliner Dusty Rose
Chanel Rouge Allure Confidentelle
Chanel Extrait de Gloss Confidence

Harmonie Du Soir is a lovely palette with a dash of colour. Using this palette takes a little more effort on my part because of the plum shade. Darling MA Quiling at the Takashimaya branch told me to mix the plum with the brown shade together before applying. The plum shade on its own can make my eyes look swollen if I'm not careful. Between Tokapi and Harmonie Du Soir I still prefer Tokapi because of its user friendly colours.

At SGD $96 this is a big splurge. I like that Chanel went with more interesting colours than the standard gold and brown shades.

I will probably take my time to play with the colours more and come up with more looks.

I wore this look out to meet dear Luna from Lunaface. We went to Cedele at Wheelock and finally got to taste the Earl Grey ice cream dear Elaine has been raving about. It was delicious. The red velvet cake was awesome too.

Cake anyone?

Bangkok - The Beauty Edition

These are some of the things I brought with me for my trip. Travelling doesn't go well with my skin unfortunately, I am suffering from a break out, boo!

I did not have time to take pictures of what I brought for makeup. I am also quite embarrassed because I brought a lot of stuff with me. I tend to over pack my cosmetics.

Over at the airport I picked up just two items. I got my hands of Guerlain Rouge G in Gala. Such a beautiful red.

The reason why I was so subdued in my spending was because I intended to visit the Suqqu counter. While all my friends went to Chatuchak market I decided to spend some alone time shopping at Central World. You can find Suqqu at Isetan Central World. I believe the prices are definitely more expensive in Bangkok than in UK or Japan. But I was there and I made up my mind to get something no matter what. Luckily there was a 10% discount and an additional 7% discout for VAT.

Lipsticks and brushes

Eye shadow quads

Christmas sets

I made up my mind to bring home an eye shadow brush F but unfortunately they did not have the one I wanted so I bought the eye shadow brush in L. I had wanted an eye shadow quad in Tsukiakari but the SA there diverted my attention o the Christmas sets. It was love at first swatch so I decided to get Kit B. Finally how can I lipstick whore go without getting a lipstick to try. :) I bought a creamy glow lipstick in 07 Asasuou.
