Giorgio Armani 20% Sale at website

Seeing this email promotion almost made me wish I had held out longer before I bought my Face Fabric foundation.

I wish I would be more excited by this but I basically have what I need from Giorgio Armani at the moment, no need to stock up on any items.

I have had people asking me whether I was sure that whatever I bought from the internet was safe. As in, are the products real and whether the products I bought were past their expiry date. Well I always get my stuff from the official websites or from reputable online stores so I'm not worried that I would be buying a fake. As for expiry dates, I'll be truthful I don't always check. I know, bad bad buyer! But I had never had problems with the products I buy.

Why do I buy from the net, savings of course! I love my makeup and skincare products. When I buy from the net I get value for money. I usually wait for discounts such as the one above to buy items on my lemming list, but sometimes I just can't wait.

So what are the must have GA items?

Well, products for the face of course. I really love GA foundations. If you have oily skin, I highly recommend their Lasting UV Silk foundation for medium to full coverage. If you have good skin and can afford light coverage, their Face Fabric is so so good.

Their eye shadows and blush are very soft and blend very well, the colours are often more muted and neutral. If you don't mind the price tag, they are nice to haves. I prefer MAC and Urban Decay shadows myself.

I also love their fluid sheers. The consistency and transaprency of these babies are to die for. I don't love the packaging though because it causes much wastage. You can see some of my fluid sheer swatches here.

So happy shopping! Let me know what is on your shopping list!

Lipstick Organiser

My lip product stash just got bigger by a few lipsticks. Mainly MAC Lustering, Show Orchid and Morange. I'm also awaiting my Korres Mango Lip Butter Lipsticks in Nude and Peach to come in. So this cheap and nifty organiser couldn't contain all my stuff anymore. What is a girl got to do? Head to Daiso of course! It is where I originally bought this from.

I looked through all the plastic containers to see which had possibilities. This is what I got.

It costs SGD$2. There are two dividers which I can move around. So I separated one corner for lipsticks and another for lipglosses.

Above are all my precious lipsticks.

These are my lipglosses.

And finally more space for me to add new additions to my ever expanding collection. Nothing makes me happier than seeing all my makeup organised and ready to use.

MAC Cremesheen Glass in Loud and Lovely Review

I'm not into MAC lipglasses anymore. I find that they are too sticky for my taste. However, I really love their cremesheen glass. They aren't sticky and come in lovely colours. When applied, my lips look kinda wet and glossy. My first cremesheen glass was Petite Indulgence, you can read the review here.

Taken from MAC website

A lip finish that fuses the creamy, sheen-filled nature of Cremesheen Lipstick with the shine of M∙A∙C Lipglass. Soft, comfortable, non-sticky. Use as a top layer to its namesake Lipstick or on its own.

Sidetrack: Indcidentally, while I was at the MAC counter, I saw the superglasses. I was quite tempted to get one because they looked so sparkly and pretty. Then when the MA came by, one look at her lips I was totally put off. It was quite obvious she had been wearing the superglasses (big glitter bits stuck to her lips) unfortunately, the glosses had worn off and her lips looked quite dry and was peeling. That stopped me from getting any superglasses.

Sigh, after bringing it home and putting it side by side to Petite Indulgence, I realise that I bought something quite similar to what I have already. Just that Loud and Lovely is darker.

Still, I like it and anyways, my Petite Indulgence is running out.

Face of the day

Had some time today so I practiced putting on false eye lashes and experimented with my Morange lipstick. I was also playing with my camera. Taking product pictures and swatches are easy but when it comes to photographing yourself and close ups of eye makeup, it is really hard!

This is what I came up with.

I took pictures in my bedroom and in the bathroom.

Eyes:

Urban Decay Primer Potion
Becca Eye Tint in Gilt
MAC Powerpoint eyeliner in Stubborn Brown
Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Zero
Ardell's lashes in 108

I had problems sticking them close to my lashes. The outer corner didn't stick well and is not really stuck. Should I place the lashes further in? Tips? Comments? Suggestions? Anyone?

MAC Morange Lipstick Review

Still on my quest for bright summery colours. I really couldn't resist getting Morange. Described as a loudmouth orange, it is an Amplified Creme formula (ultra-creamy. Quietly shiny. Colour-packed! Hi-res: hi-impact).

I find that it is easier to apply this if I have prepped my lips. Make sure your lips are exfoliated and well "balmed" before makeup application. So when you get to applying lipstick, your lips are soft and smooth. You need a matching lipliner though. I tried using MAC Spice lipliner then applying this straight from the tube. It didn't look that nice. I'll wait for my MUFE lipliner and try it with that.

Morange can look like clown lips if you are not careful. I find using fingers to apply this colour or by blotting it onto lips would give a more subdued and more wearable effect. Then apply some gloss. I think this would look great on fair to medium skintones, I'm not sure whether it would look good on darker skin tones or not.

Comparing this to my Korres' Mango Butter Lipstick in Coral. I prefer Korres' formulation. It is more emolient and moisturising. Coral is a much more wearable colour too.

I did a face of the day and this was the best pic I could get of my lips with Morange. Morange isn't wearable straight from the tube. But with a lip brush and blotting, it looks bright without being too obnoxious and loud. I spent the entire day experimenting with it and it looks best on its own. I'm finally loving how it looks on my lips so I'm upgrading this lippie colour.

MAC Show Orchid Lipstick Review

In my quest to find the perfect fuchsia lipstick, I found Show Orchid. The MAC website calls it a vivid hot pink. Its hot alright.

It is a really bright pink with blue undertones. So lovely when taken under sunlight. It is an amplified creme. It is very pigmented and appears more satiny but not that shiny. I haven't worn this out yet per se so I can't tell much about whether it is drying or how well it lasts. So I'm not going to give it a rating yet. I will update and let you know when I take this baby out for a test drive. I did try this out when I got home just to see whether it suits me. I just love how it looks.

Mini MAC Haul

I'm waiting very impatiently for my MUFE package to come in. In the mean time, I'm obssessed with getting the perfect fuschia lipstick. MAC's Lustering although really pretty isn't as impactful as I want it to be. I'm not sure why but guess as I grow older, I am more game for experimenting with makeup. So I'm into hot corals and hot pink lips.

So yesterday while shopping for rashguards at Vivocity, I popped over to the MAC counter to try my luck and see if I could get my hands on Girl About Town. I also decided to get Morange with my MAC empties. The first rack of lipsticks were all boring pinks and browns, I was about to give up. I looked over at the other rack (I always assumed that the several racks of lipsticks they had at the MAC counters had the same lipsticks, not true!) I spotted Morange so I quickly grabbed it. And in the corner hidden away were some products from past collections and I spotted Show Orchid! I made a grab of that and a Cremesheen Gloss called Loud and Lovely. I was crossing my fingers and hoping that the MA doesn't tell me that Morange or Show Orchid were out of stock.

Tada!

I couldn't resist whipping Show Orchid out when I went to the ladies to give it a go. It is one hot colour!

Reviews and product swatches coming soon!

MAC To The Beach Bronze Body Oil Review

I love all things shimmery. I have been wanting a shimmery body product to apply on my arms and shoulders for that lovely glowy look. I definitely wasn't going to pass up on getting this.

Taken from the MAC website:

A shimmering body oil formulated to bring a sheer sheen and sexy gleam to skin. Soothing, naturally emollient. Its fusion of three botanical oils helps soften, smooth and moisturize skin. Limited edition.

You have to shake this up quite a bit to mix the solution inside. The initial few pumps produced just plain oil.

This is quite wet, so you have to rub this into your skin and wait for it to dry before you put on your clothes. Don't want this to stain your pretty clothes do you? Before I forget, do remember to give your body a through body scrub. You can't pull this off with flakey skin.

It leaves a residue on your palms so you have to wash this off. I'm not sure how moisturising it is but when I had dinner last night at Brewerkz I could see the golden sparkles on my skin. Very lovely. In daylight, my skin has a lovely sheen. I'm already quite tanned so I'm already kinda bronzed.

I'm not so sure about using this at the beach. I believe in total sun protection. I typically slather myself with SPF50 and up sunblock. I think applying this would be a total waste of time. Definitely for date nights where you want the extra glow and during the day to looked like a playful bronzed goddess.

I think I paid about SGD$42 for this. For that amount of money I expect this oil to really soften my skin and moisturise it as well. So it isn't truly something worth its value to me.
