Cheap nail thrills

While waiting for DH to show up for lunch, I walked around City Hall. I spied Skin Food and went in to dabble with their nail polishes and stuff. This is what I got.

I really like the cutesy nail stickers. They were going for $5 so whats there not to love.

It was raining for the past few days, so DH and I were kinda stuck in the hotel suite. I got busy and experimented with the stickers. Tada!

New products at Giorgio Armani Cosmetics

I spy new products at Giorgio Armani and simply had to share. I have been lemming the Face Fabric for quite sometime now. I was given a sample but it was too dark for me. But when I tried it on my hand I was pleasantly surprised at how silky smoth it felt.

While I was looking through the GA website I spied two new and interesting items. Check them out.

Face Fabric Radiance

Taken from the website:

Your favorite cream to powder foundation now reformulated with an exclusive Micro Fil™ light fluid pigment that seamlessly applies like a sheer second skin. The result: a radiant luminescent glow.

It comes on three shades: 1 - fair, 2 - medium and 3 - medium dark

Blushing Fabric

Taken from the website

A micro-blend of water soluble pigments create a luminous fabric-like finish with incredible transparency. Inspired by Armani's finest couture fabrics, this sensuously textiled color wraps skin in weightless perfection.

It comes in uninspiring numbers with no colour description.

I'm kinda leaning towards number 2 for a nude rose look.

My 10th year wedding anniversary

I just got back from spending the nicest most pampered time ever at the Fullerton Hotel. It was my DH and my 10th anniversary and DH wanted to treat me to a luxurious hotel stay. We did not have too many vacation days to go to a nearby country so he decided to book us into our favourite hotel, Fullerton.

In order to make it special, he book us into a junior suite. To be honest, I have never stayed in a suite before so it was very special for me. Well the suite wasn't up to our expectations and we actually decided to downgrade into the normal rooms we stayed in. Well because it was our anniversary, the guys at Fullerton really made it special by upgrading us to the duplex suite. It was a loft suite!!! Our eyes popped out!

This is our balcony for three days. It is connected to the other rooms. It was so lovely to just sip a cup of coffee and watch the world go by from these lounge chairs.

We had our own expresso machine with all the different types of coffee.

Chocolates everyday! Oh my! Any a lovely bouquet of roses from DH.

We visited Singapore Art Museum where we were married. And also CHIJMES where we had our chinese wedding dinner.

We also met up with some very good friends and had dinner together. We had the best time ever.

Face of the day and ramblings

I recently hauled at ASOS and bought some great dresses and accessories. I was very pleased with my buy because I managed to find a 20% discount code. One thing that irked me though was that the peach dress I bought was a little too translucent for my liking.

In fact I currently have two other dresses in my closet that are too translucent. I like them very much but can't wear them out for fear that everyone would be able to see my panties. Let me tell you how hard it is to find petticoats these days. They can't be found!!! I have tried Marks and Spencer but the size 8s are always out of stock especially the nude shades.

So I trekked down to Orchard Road today to find me a petticoat. Instead of finding them at the most expensive and upmarket places I found it at a little corner in Tangs and it was selling for $9. I'm so happy. Not only did I find a petticoat I found a padded nude bandeau to go with it too.

These are the other stuff I bought.

Incidently, if you ever want to buy clothes from ASOS, those apparel that are "lightweight cotton" usually are translucent. Save yourself the trouble and buy the black. Those are never see through.

This is my makeup for today.

MAC Blush Ombre Ripe Peach Review

I have been trying my best to stick to my New Year Resolution to buy only one makeup item. You know I blew it on a recent Too Faced, Smashbox, Stila etc haul. I was doing my best to resist. I've been studiously trying to curb my lemmings but hoenestly when MAC comes out with a blush like this, how is a blush fanatic about to say no.

Ripe Peach is about the most sought after MAC Blush from the Spring Forecast collection. It looks so pretty in the pan. I wasn't really sure I would buy this. I did not want to give into the hype. But when you keep reading about how everyone raves about this and how fast it is sold out. it is very hard for a makeup addict like me not buy it.

I happened to be in Vivocity two days back to have my nails done. MAC had a Spring Forecast launch. It looked quite underwhelming to me. I popped in to take a look at Ripe Peach and try my luck and ask if there were stocks available. I was expecting it to be sold out. When the MA said they had it, it was very automatic for me to say I'll get it.

I felt it is very necessaryto enlarge this so you can see how beautiful it is in all it's glory.

In my opinion it is nothing like Nars Orgasm. It is much brighter, more matt, less shimmery and has more pink.

The swatch on the far right is the orange portion and the one in the middle is the pink portion. When mixed, it is the swatch on the far left. It doesn't feel chalky.

This is how it looks on my NC35 cheeks. Please excuse the brown spots and acne scars.

I did not layer this with any cream/gel blushes underneath so what you see is what you get. It is a bright colour. With a fluffy brush, you won't overdo it and get clown cheeks. It really is a suitable shade for summer. Bright and happy.

I paid SGD $45 for it. It is quite a large pan, probably take me a long while to use it up. I'm quite happy with this buy.

Blush lemmings

I am crazy over cheek products, especially cream blush. My senses went a tingle when I heard and saw Make Up Forever HD Blush. I have heard raves about their HD products and from the few Sephora reviews I have read, seems like those who bought them really like it.

Taken from Sephora website:

HD Microfinish Blush

What it is:

A cream blush that naturally sculpts and highlights the cheeks for a healthy glow.

What it does:

HD Microfinish Blush combines mattifying and reflecting powders to create a soft-focus effect for a radiant complexion. Its ultra-fine, second-skin texture blends seamlessly, imparting a healthy glow that's hard not to notice.

What else you need to know:

Formulated with evaporating oils, HD Microfinish Blush has a long-lasting result. Dermatologist tested. Paraben free.

6 Quickie (Salmon Pink)

12 Fist Kiss (Bright Apricot)

These two colours are on my lem list. I love corals! They sell for USD $25 for 0.33 oz.
