Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait De Gloss in Genie

My new gloss love has to be the Chanel Extrait De Glosses. They are moisturising and promises amped up shine. My detailed review of Insolence, another Extriat De Gloss can be found here.

I currently also have Insolence a bubble gum pink. Genie is a milky light coral that goes so well with my coral/orange lipsticks. It lightens up darker corals a tad. I'm currently pairing this with Sari Dore or Exotic, my favourite new coral/orange lipstick shades. On its own, one layer gives my lips a sheer shiny look with a hint of light coral. I can't do too many layers because the milky coral isn't very flattering for my skin tone. I definitely use this paired with other lipsticks but not on its own.

Ratings: 4 lipsticks

  1. Hi Jacqueline,

Do you find your Extrait de Gloss bleeds? I have one called Fatale (a gorgeous deep red) and I've tried using it many ways (on its own, over my Elizabeth Arden Lip Fix and also over lip liners) but mine always bleeds... Do you have any suggestions?

  2. Hi there, I've not tried the gloss by itself while going out for long periods so I don't know that it bleeds. I'm at a loss too, you tried everything huh? sorry!

  5. Hi Jacqueline,
I have the same gloss and the same colour, however I am not sure if I should get a matching orangey-peachy blush! When i put this gloss on, my cheeks look pinky...
I only own one blush now, which is a peach Shu Uemura blush (very close to NARS Orgasm minus the shimmer). Please help!

  6. Hey Rena :) when I wear coral/peach/orange lippies, I match it with a warm blush. You can go for peachy pinks and coral blushes but not cool pinks. If you have something that looks like Orgasm, I bet it will match most lipstick shades. If you want help venturing into blushes I definitely can be of help. (Rubs hands with glee) Do you prefer powder blushes or cream/gel ones. If you are willing to splurge get a Chanel Joues Contraste. Espiegel is a lovely fresh peach shade.

  7. Hi again Jacqueline! Yes you read my mine, I am thinking Chanel Espiegel as well! It is pretty pricey for a blush though, but I am very into it after looking at swatches online!
I am definitely a powder blush girl, my skin is pretty oily especially during summer!

I have my eyes on Illamasqua as well, do you have this range in Singapore? In Aus, they are wayyy overpriced...

http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P241706&categoryId=C21473 I am definitely going to check out Excite

Thanks for replying Jacqueline, so much appreciated :) x Rena

  8. Honestly speaking, Aussie prices are very very high, I think it is because of the exchange rate. I have heard of Illamasqua but unfortunately have no access to it. Excite looks very exciting (no pun intended). It is definitely a colour I would choose for myself.

Check out these swatches I found on-line.
