Chanel Rouge Allure in Confidentielle Review

(Taken from the Chanel website)

A black lacquered case that hides a sensual lipstick dressed in gold.

Ultra-feminine and almost provocative with its little click, this new beauty expression is a trigger of seduction.

ROUGE ALLURE reveals intense color in just one click. The wonderfully luminous and satiny makeup result offers maximum color with the very first stroke. The new supple, ultra-fine and ultra-gliding second-skin texture becomes one with the lips to fully reveal its color...

Choose your own shades from the color palette: from the most tender to the most sensual, from the most natural to the most sophisticated. ROUGE ALLURE reveals your power of seduction.

An object of desire, ROUGE ALLURE is simple, luxurious and modern all at once.

A timeless feminine gesture reinterpreted by CHANEL. A trigger of seduction ideal for sensual impromptu touch-ups: in one click, the lipstick is revealed and ready for application.

A true beauty accessory, ROUGE ALLURE incites the desire to see yourself and be seen by others. It becomes the essential ally of your allure... For perfectly defined lips: trace lip contours with LE CRAYON LÈVRES in a shade close to that of your lipstick.

I'm sick to admit this but I have been spending the couple of days sighing with great satisfaction and contentment when I bring out my Chanel hoard to touch and admire. The feeling is like finding the Holy Grail of all lipsticks. I am that much in love with Chanel at this moment.

Chanel is truly in a class of its own. I don't mind spending SGD$44 to own a little piece of class and heaven. Rouge Allure's a housed in its special click container. You click on the gold logo and slide the tube out. The lacquered casing is sleek and a joy to hold.

The Rouge Allure in my opinion has a better formulation than the Rouge Coco series. It glides on smoothly and is very comfortable on the lips. My lips feel soft and supple after use, doesn't cause my lips to peel. It didn't last through a bento dinner but that is fine by me.

Confidentelle under bright sunlight

I wore this with a smokey blue eye look. Confidentielle is a lighter pink. Because of its satiny pearly texture, it makes my lips look full and shiny. No need for gloss. I love the shade. Rouge Allures are slightly sheerer that the Rouge Cocos. If you like at the swatches of all three lip colours below you can tell.

Ratings: 5+ lipsticks

My overall thoughts. All in all I am very satisfied and happy with all my new Chanel lipsticks. They are an investment. Call me a beauty snob but I believe some beauty items are truly worth paying for. One is your lipstick. There is a difference between drugstore brands and luxury brands. In my experience, luxury brands have better color selections and are formulated to love your lips better. If I had more moolah to spend, I'm going to devote myself to collecting more Lacques and Allures. I love all three colours but truly the stand out for me is the Lacques and Allures. Skip the Cocos unless there is a shade you can't find in the other two.

Looking at the various swatches and the Chanel website, I'm lemming Rouge Allure in Exotic (check out Temptalia's swatche here), Rouge Allure Laque in Phoenix (check out Temptalia's swatche here) and Santal (check out Temptalia's swatch here).

Do you have a special love for a brand of lipstick? Would you care to share with me your favourites?
